Explore Indonesia’s Teas

Officially named the Republic of Indonesia. It is a unitary sovereign state and transcontinental country located mainly in Southeast Asia, with some territories in Oceania. It is a conglomeration of over 13,000 islands and home to over 261 million people (4th highest in the world) who are crammed into small areas so that the biodiversity of the islands can be maintained, putting the welfare of plants and animals above the lives and well-being of humans.

The country’s abundant natural resources include oil, natural gas, tin, copper, and gold. Agriculture products are rice, palm oil, tea, coffee, cacao, medicinal plants, spices, and rubber. The various islands were controlled over past centuries by people from the Middle East, Europe, and Asia. They became a unified independent nation after World War II.

As you can see on this map, Indonesia lies along the Equator. As such, their climate in terms of tea growing is very much tropical. Their teas are affected by this.
