Sunday Scones – Barista Bakery Co. Chocolate Cherry

The second package of some Barista Baking Co. ready-to-bake scones my humans brought home from the local Walmart store. The first was their Blueberry. Today, it was Chocolate Cherry scones, and here are the results:

Our photo of the finished scones wasn’t quite as picture perfect as the one their food photography specialist fixed up extra nice. But ours is more realistic. A lot of the cherry oozed out on the baking sheet, leaving only a very light cherry taste in the scones. But there was plenty of chocolate, and the vanilla icing was the perfect touch. My humans think of these scones as more the dessert variety. TOOOT!

Little Yellow Teapot Reports: The 7 Signs of Teapot Abuse

Teapot abuse is on the rise. Whether it’s a lovely pink teapot being set out in freezing cold and snow just for a human to take a photo of her, as we showed in this article, or me being gotten up from a deep sleep to steep tea for my humans (as has happened countless times), the trend is growing at an alarming rate. I, your intrepid Little Yellow Teapot and a key poster on this e-zine, have decided that the time for action and the raising of awareness is here. The first thing is to educate you humans on the forms this teapot abuse takes and the signs to watch for. The second thing is to start a world-wide movement to save my cousin teapots from such abuse (not having feet, we teapots need your help to get around to do this). Continue reading Little Yellow Teapot Reports: The 7 Signs of Teapot Abuse

Getting Crafty at Tea Time – Be Part of Our List

Whether it’s a handmade teapot cozy, crocheted potholders and coasters, or a colorful and warm quilt to wrap yourself in while sipping that cuppa, people are getting crafty at tea time. And our blog here is beginning to acknowledge some of these as we come across them. One is Sanderella’s Crochet.

A few years ago, my buddy Little Yellow Teapot (who also writes posts on this blog) was fitted for a custom tea cozy made by GinghamGirl in Virginia. It took some effort to get the cozy sized just right. The first one was too big, the second one was too small, so I sent measurements and a photo to her, then she sent a prototype that turned out to be just right! From there she made the final version, and all the prototypes plus some Tea Gang members had a party. It was a grand time (lots of cookies and tasty tea!).

We know many more of you are out there, so feel free to comment here to have your site added to our growing list of crafty humans. We want to have a comprehensive list of you tea-loving crafters out there, so be sure to include something tea-related in a photo, just send us a private message in Facebook or Twitter, and we can post it here. TOOOT!

Tea Gang Greetings!

From our house to your house – best wishes for your holiday!

The dining table is about 5 feet in diameter, plenty of room for me and the Tea Gang to gather for a photo. (Actually, this isn’t quite the whole gang, and we didn’t have room to crowd in the various teacups and mugs that have joined us over the years in our tea adventures.) Our human caretakers are shown here holding their mugs of tea… well, just a hand of each human is showing. We need those hands for moving us around, putting tea leaves in us, pouring water into the tea kettle, and so on. We’re all hoping that you’ve enjoyed our tea adventures all these years and will stay with us and we continue in the years ahead. Continue reading Tea Gang Greetings!
